Lovely story about a twin boy who has faced much adversity: lost his brother, ostracized from community, feels unloved. Ned, nonetheless, has internalized excellent thick character traits and bumbles his way through a series of fantastic adventures. There are bandits, adventure, animals, magic and royalty (good and bad) included in the tale, which I think really speaks to learning to be a friend and making selfless choices.
