Vasilisa Petrovna is an unforgettable heroine determined to forge her own path. Her gifts and her courage have bound her fate to Morozko, the winter-king, but it is too soon to know if this connection will prove a blessing or a curse.
Now Moscow has been struck by disaster. Its people are searching for answers—and for someone to blame. Vasya finds herself alone, beset on all sides. The Grand Prince is in a rage, choosing allies that will lead him on a path to war and ruin. And a wicked demon returns, determined to spread chaos.
Caught at the center of the conflict, her destiny uncertain, knowing that her choices will determine the fate of two worlds, Vasya will uncover surprising truths about herself as she desperately tries to protect her family, her country, and the magical world she loves. But she may not be able to save them all.

I think this might be one of my all-time favourite fantasy series :D - high praise, I know, but fully earned. What really seals it for me is Vasya. She’s exactly the kind of FMC I want more of in fantasy: stubborn without being reckless, kind without being soft, powerful without losing her humanity. She feels real, and that makes everything hit harder.
The trilogy’s progression is chef’s kiss. The first book is dreamy and vibey, steeped in folklore and that quiet, fairy-tale magic that creeps under your skin. The second is fire, chaos, movement, and ferocity, with Vasya fully stepping into herself and refusing to be anything less than herself. And The Winter of the Witch? It’s a flood of everything I loved before, amplified. The mythology deepens, the emotional stakes rise, and all those threads finally tighten.
And then there’s the battle!! Not just spectacle but a battle that feels earned and rooted in choice, sacrifice, and identity. It’s loud, devastating, and strangely tender all at once. A powerful, satisfying conclusion to a series that knows exactly what it’s been building toward.
