I was so enamored by the Wild Robot and her son, Brightbill, that I looked for the next book in the series. At the end of the first book, we find the Wild Robot had been damaged and returned to the factory for repairs. She is refurbished and given an assignment helping a farmer. She learns the job quickly and particularly likes spending time with the two children who live on the farm. However, she is missing her son and her life on the island. The rest of the book details how she endeavors to escape and make it back to the island. Just a charming book that I think would delight both children and adults.
