Extremely similar to The Last Mrs. Parrish. If you like one you’ll like the other. I’ve read better but overall I didn’t hate it. I preferred The Last Mrs. Parrish instead. Yes there were some twists in The Wife Between Us but it didn’t capture me.
I thought this was a pretty great thriller. I passed it several times at the library, and had heard mixed reviews, so I was hesitant to finally check it out. I like to think I’m a pretty good predictor, but this book genuinely surprised me multiple times. Excellently written and I appreciated the way everything connected. It didn’t blow my mind, so I decided on 4/5 but it was a pleasant read and I would recommend to people who like domestic thrillers
I had a couple of ‘wait, what?!?!’ moments in this book. It was a suspenseful tale of brown people, manipulating one another for their own benefit. We are first introduced to Vanessa, the recently divorced wife and Nelly, the new bride to be. Richard seems to be a successful businessman and a controlling husband. And the story progresses, and we are reminded that things are not always what they seem. I enjoyed the suspense and the characters were well enough developed to begin too care about them. Twists await, however.
I'm on the fence about this one. Parts of it had me on the edge of my seat, a lot of it made me want to put my head through a wall. 2.5, but i'll round it up.
