When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Read between the lies.

The story wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Troubled characters, toxic relationships, a tad of evil intent. I liked the way the character unfolded though and enjoyed Nellie's narrative, the way she described and expressed herself. Then some twists and turns keep things interesting. The final twist was a but far fetched to me, I think the book would have been better if they ended it without the last nugget about Emma.

The Wife Between us has suspense that propels the reader through the seemingly unending tragic and intriguing histories of the characters. It highlights the toxic sort of relationships and upbringings in the world and the author weaves a tale with stunning climaxes and oddly unlikely heroes.

These authors have an addictive writing style which makes it hard to put this book down. Both psychological and thrilling.

The Wife Between Us is a novel selected for a Book Club that I joined a year and a half ago. The two authors' writing was executed seamlessly with excellent twists and turns. I highly suggest this novel for a book club since there are many talking points about domestic violence, mental illness, family, isolation, and vengeance. I would not, however, suggest this novel for a relaxing read. The novel has many intricacies that the reader is tangled in a web of stories that can be cumbersome. In the end, I rated the novel three stars because I felt the end was a bit anti-climatic. That being said, I tend to enjoy a dark ending rather than justice.
