"A fiendishly smart cat-and-mouse thriller" —New York Times Book Review

"Buckle up, because you won't be able to put this one down." —Glamour

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Read between the lies.

The story wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Troubled characters, toxic relationships, a tad of evil intent. I liked the way the character unfolded though and enjoyed Nellie's narrative, the way she described and expressed herself. Then some twists and turns keep things interesting. The final twist was a but far fetched to me, I think the book would have been better if they ended it without the last nugget about Emma.

The Wife Between us has suspense that propels the reader through the seemingly unending tragic and intriguing histories of the characters. It highlights the toxic sort of relationships and upbringings in the world and the author weaves a tale with stunning climaxes and oddly unlikely heroes.

Ok, I'd like to go 4.5 for this one. I really liked it a lot. I was reminded of a few other books while reading it, [b:The Breakdown|31450633|The Breakdown|B.A. Paris|https:images.gr-assets.com/books/1492234495s/31450633.jpg|49326982] chief among them. Not that it bothered me in the slightest. There's one point at about 41% through when a twist happened that literally made my brain incapable of thinking. I had to rewind the text to speech app at least five times to try to get it kick started again.

Seriously, if you like twisted psychological thrillers, put this one on your TBR list. Although, I do think the epilogue was too much and completely unnecessary. Which is a big reason for the desire to give it 4.5 instead of a full 5. It made me groan and wish it didn't exist.

A big thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the copy. There'll be a review posted on C-Spot Reviews once the book is released.
