The Whisper Man

This turned out to be a really good police procedural book with a hint of the supernatural. Not as much of a horror element as I thought there would be, but a good book nonetheless!

This was an intriguing, circular story that tied up all of the loose ends nicely. There were a few scenes in the book that I found genuinely creepy. I love how the author explores the disconnect between father and son when dealing with trauma. Throw missing and murdered children into the mix, and this book is dark, substantial, and has a satisfying conclusion.

"If you leave the door half open, soon you'll hear the whispers spoken. If you play outside alone, soon you won't be going home. If your window's left unlatched, you'll hear him tapping at the glass. If your lonely, sad and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you".
