Holly Reneeâs The Veiled Kingdom swept me away like a rogue breeze through an ancient castle. From the first page, I was ensnaredâlike a squirrel in a library, clutching its acorn of secrets.
I probably should have looked up the spice rating before I started this book lol.
That being said I do think the spicy scenes were just too much for me and took away from the overall plot of the book. I would have loved to see more of a struggle dynamic as Nyra begins to trust and feel a part of the rebellion instead of it feeling so rushed. I did enjoy the storyline and hope the next book isn't so intense and a little more focused on the plot instead of spicy scenes.
That being said, I do think the overall plot is still interesting and I'm excited to see where the next book takes us in regards to Nyra and her father, and how she's going to handle being labelled a traitor to her own kingdom and the rebellion.

I liked it! It was an easy and quick read and once I got used to the writing style I was into it. The enemies-to-lovers in this one wasn’t fully my thing, it was a little too lusty vs. romantic for me. More to say at our meeting!😁
