This gem will be a new go-t0 cozy mystery series. Originally written in 1966, but it is not dated in its story or language. Mrs Pollifax is a retired widow who is bored with her life of committee work in suburban NJ. So - of course - she goes to the CIA to volunteer to be a spy. And accidentally gets hired to pick up something in Mexico. But things change rather unexpectedly and she ends up on a wild adventure, including planes and prison and goats and guns. All throughout, Mrs Pollifax maintains a cheerful demeanor and brings humanity and community to all the situations in which she finds herself.
