Readers say *The Time Traveler’s Wife* is beautifully written with innovative time travel that enriches its unique romantic story. Many praise the emo...
I’ve read the book and watched the film multiple times, and each revisit reveals something new. The love between Henry and Clare is timeless steadfast beyond logic or chronology. While the novel offers greater depth, both formats capture the same enduring devotion.
A personal highlight is the name Alba for their time-traveling daughter and the significance of September in key moments. Gómez remains brilliantly humorous, while Ingrid’s storyline adds emotional weight. If you want a story rich in yearning, with mild spiciness and a full-circle view of love and life, this book delivers.
LOVED this. Can't wait for the movie now. The love between Henry and Clare, even though their relationship didn't seem so stable, was the kind of love that even the happiest and most stable couples never experience.
Dropped the book after page 40 or so. I'm a picky reader and it didn't grab me at all, was not interested in either Claire or the Nude time traveler's plight.
Okay, some how this book found its way in my hands again. This time I read to page 290 and then dropped it. It goes like this: Henry, Claire, Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,Henry, Claire,H...

I wanted to like this book, but ultimately it left me with a big "meh."The plot device is good and I really enjoyed the first half of the book. As I read, I increasingly felt that Nifenegger left us less engaged with the characters, focusing instead on (sometimes pompous) minutiae. The second half of the book was overwritten and depressing. Maybe with a bit of editing in these parts, I could have felt better about it. I finished the book and felt a little let down by the resolution. Anyhow, I did enjoy the first half and it wasn't horrible--so 3 stars and a big yawn.
3.5 stars. So I'd intended to read this one for awhile. Mostly just because of all the hype. And I'm a sucker for romance. But I'd also heard it was sad, which made me hesitant. And while I thought it was beautifully written, the characters were well-developed, and the story was beyond unique, I wasn't blown away. I did find myself always picking it up, wanting to continue the story, so it's hard for me to rate. But there were no tears for me, no feelings of despair when I finished it. Mostly I found myself flipping back through, trying to make sense of the dates and clues early on in the book. Oh well, I can finally cross this one off my list.
