Decent slasher that switches POVs through out. The setup and setting are both done well. The ending feels a bit rushed, and feels like a setup for a sequel more than an ending.

“The Thicket” is a very fun novel, one that is great for someone wanting to dip their toes into the horror and thriller genres. For those who have experience within the genres, I can see how this novel doesn’t provide anything new, but does a good job at keeping a solid pace and is gory enough to make new readers wiggle. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the novel, feeling right at home to read during the Halloween season. I genuinely enjoyed reading this novel, and am very curious to see what else Ihli has to offer.
