After enjoying "The House at Tyneford" so much, I was quite disappointed with this later novel by the same author. The main characters were selfish, and I quickly bored of their self-absorbed antics and pity parties. I think the author wished to remind us that genius comes with a high price...you simply can't get everything you want in life.
