This book was introduced to us by our tour guide in Modica, Sicily this January. The series has become the basis for a popular Italian TV show and we actually saw where some of the scenes are filmed!
The story in the first is about a politician who is found dead in a compromising place and the police detective who can't let go the idea that something about the situation is fishy. The pace of the investigation is decidedly not American, and it was kind of entertaining to fall into the Sicilian way of investigating. An entertaining day of reading. Yes, I finished in a little over 4 hrs.
