🧚🏾♀️Fun Fantasy Friday🧚🏾♀️
I don’t usually read fantasy, but had to start this series because of the beautiful cover of book 3, When a Wolf Loves the Moon! It is breathtakingly beautiful!!
This was a pretty good read and a great choice for someone who wants to ease into the genre. It’s also very timely for spooky season!
The characters are witches, vampires, sexy sirens (including a mandigo siren 🤭), and fairies. But the star of the show - for me - was the man trapped in a cat’s body, Quan. He was definitely feeling some type of way about being cursed and being treated like a stray, instead of the fine man he really was 🐈⬛! He was so funny and I’m sorry for all the times I laughed at the crew teasing him.
I feel the plot was lacking and I was constantly wondering, what is supposed to be happening? What are they working towards? So, I’m thinking we’ll see more ploy-focused action in books 2 & 3…I know in fantasy a great portion of the first book at least is an introduction to the characters and building up their world. I also feel that the story didn’t hone into Maggie Grey as the title implies; so it would’ve been better for her to stand out from the crowd.
This was a fun, out of the box ride. I’d recommend it if you can get past the raunchy & profanity laced dialogues!!
Great read from Granger. I enjoyed reading this book. It took a while for her to find out and embrace her family lineage. I enjoyed each character and how they contributed to the overall storyline.
