Update: ALRIGHT ITS 5 STARS

OG post:
I don’t know what to make of this yet.
At first I was put off bc it was so freaking long, and part 1 just talks about this kid having lots of sex and ofc it’s written by a man so it’s just uncomfy.
But I have a feeling this book will like in my head for a while as I try to decipher it.
My current conclusions:
1. I liked the nonlinear, multiple narrator perspectives of part 2. Fun, clever. Author did a great job giving each character their own distinct voice and writing style.
2. Literature is futile but essential
3. I have major book hangover. Maybe it’s because there are so many characters, and this book is so long, but I feel like I’ve been living with all of these characters for so long that it’s too quiet without them. Our journey feels unfinished, like I didn’t get enough time with them. But we don’t really get enough time with most people, do we?
4. Similar to Speak Gigantular, the end of the book changes the meaning of everything in the rest of the book. Which means this warrants a reread
