The Rose Society (The Young Elites)

From New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu comes the second book in the exhilarating Young Elites series

Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all.

Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers who nearly killed her.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?

Bestselling author and New York Times proclaimed "hit factory" Marie Lu delivers another heart-pounding adventure in this exhilarating sequel to The Young Elites.

for a while I was going to give it a single star, because this book made me angry for stupid reasons with its ridiculous attempts at romance. so weak, so forces and so no.
but I kept reading for this is what we do when books happen in our lives, right? I kept reading and reached the end. OH DEAR LORDE AND HOLY SWEET CARING MOTHER OF BABY DRAGONS. with that end you raise hell and destroy heaven. I never read an ending like this before, because I never read a book like these before. of course it reminded me of Clariel and the shadowy paths they took, but Adelina went right there to the core of darkness and there is no way back. oh sweet jebus. I love this book.
I have a million questions now, and the most important is if there will be another book, I wish there was, but even if it never happens, I'm happy with this end. my heart will never recover. adelina is so doomed. and so is the poor soul who chooses to cross her path. :')

Love a morally grey female lead!
