The Wheatons are infamous among the east coast elite for their lack of impulse control, except for their daughter Clara. She's the consummate socialite: over-achieving, well-mannered, predictable. But every Wheaton has their weakness. When Clara's childhood crush invites her to move cross-country, the offer is too tempting to resist. Unfortunately, it's also too good to be true.

After a bait-and-switch, Clara finds herself sharing a lease with a charming stranger. Josh might be a bit too perceptive--not to mention handsome--for comfort, but there's a good chance he and Clara could have survived sharing a summer sublet if she hadn't looked him up on the Internet...

Once she learns how Josh has made a name for himself, Clara realizes living with him might make her the Wheaton's most scandalous story yet. His professional prowess inspires her to take tackling the stigma against female desire into her own hands. They may not agree on much, but Josh and Clara both believe women deserve better sex. What they decide to do about it will change both of their lives, and if they're lucky, they'll help everyone else get lucky too.

A FAVORITE for sure!
This book is perfection. I don't know how to formulate an appropriate review. But the premise is such a unique take on forced proximity trope.
A goody two shoe Harvard grad and a Porn Star have to be roomies?
The sex-positive atmosphere and communication is superb.
The steam is the most deliciously descriptive of writing.
The whole part where they fall for each other... SWOON!
Love this book, Rosie Danan is a staple author for sure.

I wish Shameless was real. 10/10 for plot and smut and I really enjoy the character development.

I really liked that the ex-girlfriend was not a raging, jealous bitch. Rosie Danan did things right by writing her as an ex who understands that both parties are allowed to move on without drama. She supported the relationship between Josh and Clara. Her pricklyness was her personality, not directed at Clara and she as never outright mean to her. I just liked this writing choice overall.

I really disliked the third act break because, while the issues that arose made perfect sense, I could not buy the resolution of those issues. Either, more time needed to be spent unpacking that final disagreement instead of brushing it all aside with dramatic love declarations and rapidly wrapping things up or the book needed to be longer to accommodate this narrative choice or, avoid the conflict entirely because there was enough external conflict to carry the story without it.

Also I really think this book missed the mark in terms of Clara's storyline about her family’s expectations, their prominence in the community, and her worries about reputation and the "society pages". It really did not make sense to me that so much of her inner conflict revolves around this and yet we never encounter her uptight family at all on page and we don't see her resolving her issues with them. This made the epilogue not as satisfying as the author wanted it to be.

“Every body is different, but none of them are wrong.” It was hard to read, but I still think it's a great book. Clara deserves a Josh and not an Everrett. I liked the ending where they were both friends with Naomi and the 2 families went to dinner together. I didn't expect the book to be fun, but here we are with a rating of 9.
