The Prisoner of Heaven: A Novel

Once again, internationally acclaimed, New York Times bestselling author Carlos Ruiz Zafón creates a rich, labyrinthine tale of love, literature, passion, and revenge, set in a dark, gothic Barcelona, in which the heroes of The Shadow of the Wind and The Angel's Game must contend with a nemesis that threatens to destroy them.
“Gabriel García Márquez meets Umberto Eco meets Jorge Luis Borges for a sprawling magic show." —New York Times Book Review on Shadow of the Wind

I was not sure how to review this book... I loved "Shadow of the Wind" and felt "The Angels Game" was merely a piece of the trilogy. Unfortunately I could not remember the two previous novels well enough to figure out what I thought of "The Prisoner of Heaven". It was really more like three stars but I loved the characters so I gave it a little extra. I think it would have been great to read all three in a row- I might still go back and do that.
Always a page turner! This one definitely feels like a set up for the next book in the series, but there were still points when you needed to see what happens next.
While I did enjoy reading Prisoner of Heaven, I must say that it is not nearly as intriguing as Shadow of the Wind. I may go back and re-read Angel's Game, just to see if makes more sense the second time around. I do love the series and look forward to the next one. I'd say Prisoner is a light read compared to the others
No decepciona, otra obra magistral del autor que nos deja a la espera del siguiente capítulo.
