Fun audiobook to listen to on our day of adventuring. Silly story with so many over the top characters.
One of my favorite and most enderaring books that I have read multiple times, and yet I still find it's wit and charm fresh every time! Love it!
So many wonderful gems in this book, many of which made it to the movie verbatim, but others which did not: "Who can know when his world is going to change? Who can tell before it happens, that every prior experience, all the years, were a preparation for . . . nothing."
And: “Nobody warned me…. The wrong people die, some of them, and the reason is this: life is not fair. Forget all the garbage your parents put out.”
This one reminded me of working at a certain white shoe law firm during the 2008 recession: “Good night, Westley. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.” Yeah, I remember that vibe clearly.
The movie was better art for children, but the book might be better for adults.
