Book Review: The Perfect Ruin by Shanora Williams
Shanora Williams delivers a gripping psychological thriller in The Perfect Ruin, a novel steeped in deceit, manipulation, and the dark allure of revenge. From the very first page, Williams pulls readers into a twisted world where nothing—and no one—is quite what they seem.
At the center of the story is Ivy, a woman whose carefully concealed rage and trauma drive her to infiltrate the life of the woman she holds responsible for destroying her own. As Ivy crafts a false persona and gains trust, the lines between truth and fabrication blur, revealing the chilling cost of long-held secrets and unhealed wounds.
Williams masterfully unpacks the psychology of vengeance, creating characters who are as compelling as they are morally ambiguous. The novel is fueled by sharp twists, layered lies, and the unnerving realization that beneath polished exteriors often lie broken intentions.
The Perfect Ruin is a fast-paced, intoxicating ride through obsession, betrayal, and the seductive power of retribution. It’s a story where masks are worn as easily as smiles, and the fallout of revenge is just as explosive as the secrets that inspire it.
Loved the twist and turns, didn't see the truth coming @ first but once certain activities started happening it started making sense.. Very good read
I enjoyed it! My first from the author but it won’t be my last. It gives “Lifetime Movie” vibes so there are parts that are extremely exaggerating but it wasn’t so obnoxious I would stop reading. In fact the storyline is entertaining so you’ll want to finish it. It’s told in multiple POV. I feel a tad unfilled since there are some “loose ends” and I’ll like to know what happens to Marriott, Georgia, and Ivy.
