The Neighbor War: A Romantic Comedy (Only in Atlanta Book 2)

Aiden Shaw is the smuggest, most infuriating man I've ever met. Ever. He's also my next door neighbor.

We've been at war for four bitter years. But last night, Aiden crossed a line.

The worst part? My public humiliation was caught on camera, and the video's a viral sensation.

Now, the entire internet is raving about our "off the charts chemistry" and "crackling sexual tension."

Apparently, everyone is delusional. And blind.

Yet when Aiden turns up on my doorstep, asking me to pose as his girlfriend, I find myself saying yes. Even if that means taking a couples vacation with him. Yup, couples vacation. With my mortal enemy. Who I have to pretend to be madly in love with.

Great.

I can put our war on ice for a little while, Aiden Shaw.

But in the end, someone's gotta lose.

And it's not going to be me.

The Neighbor War is a laugh-out-loud funny, swoony, closed door romantic comedy. Expect some mild language and suggestive jokes alongside sizzling hot chemistry and tension you could cut with a knife-all without the explicit scenes.

📚 The Neighbor War Author: Katie Bailey Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5 stars) Synopsis: Courtney and Aiden have been feuding neighbors for years, trading barbs and competing in a lighthearted but constant rivalry. But when an unexpected moment between them is caught on video and goes viral, the internet quickly decides they are the next perfect couple. To protect their reputations—and potentially their careers—they reluctantly agree to keep up the illusion of a relationship. Their fake dating arrangement becomes even more complicated when they must attend a romantic couples’ retreat together, surrounded by people whose opinions could make or break important opportunities for them both. As they navigate the charade, old resentments, hidden insecurities, and unexpected feelings begin to surface. My Review: The Neighbor War is a sweet rom-com that warmed my heart and made me laugh out loud quite often. Stories that balance humor with heartfelt moments are always a win for me, and this one definitely delivered on both. At the center of the story are Aiden and Courtney—longtime frenemies whose rivalry suddenly turns into a fake dating situation after a video of them goes viral. Not only do they have to pretend to be a couple, but they must do so while attending a romantic couples’ retreat in front of individuals who could significantly impact both of their career paths. Watching them navigate that situation was both entertaining and full of tension in the best rom-com way. What really drew me into the story, though, was the emotional side of their characters. Both Aiden and Courtney have built walls around their hearts, each carrying their own fears and insecurities about what it means to be truly loved. That element of the story resonated with me personally. I’ve experienced seasons in my own life where anxieties and insecurities made it difficult to fully open my heart in relationships, so seeing both of these characters wrestle with those same struggles made their journey feel more meaningful to me. That connection was a big part of why this story landed at 4.5 stars for me. The supporting cast added plenty of humor and fun to the story as well. At times the characters did feel a little immature, but honestly, that also felt somewhat realistic—after all, we all have our moments. That’s where grace comes in, and I didn’t feel it detracted enough to significantly impact my overall enjoyment. If I had one small critique, it would be that it took a little longer than I would have liked for Aiden and Courtney to truly open their hearts to each other. Once they did, I found myself wishing we could have spent more time seeing their relationship grow after that turning point. Even so, this was still a charming and enjoyable rom-com with plenty of humor, heartfelt moments, and characters I was rooting for by the end. Overall, I found it cute, entertaining, and well done, and I would definitely recommend it to readers who enjoy fake-dating tropes, enemies-to-lovers dynamics, and lighthearted romantic comedies. 💕
