Having read the first 9 books about Poirot I can't agree that this is one of her greatest books. It is a very good one alas not the one I'd recommend to someone who wants to read only one of her books to get acquainted with Agatha's work.
The characters were easy to tell from one another and it was not hard to follow despite the twists in the story.
We had a few new main individuals and again a story told from the 3rd person's perspective but it was a new experience as I got used to the narative of Captain Hastings and his condescending manner of speech. This time it was from someone who did not know the detective personally and was quite nice to read.

Masterful Mystery
Agatha Christie is the master of mystery and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is another piece of evidence in proving that case. The narrator, Hugh Fraser is the perfect storyteller for this story. If you are a fan of a good mystery - check this one out!
