This was a funny, adventurous and spicy rom-com.
The beginning was a bit slow, but it picked up and quickly became a fantasy whirlwind work of fiction.
I almost got the same feeling of being a teenager reading their favorite book series while reading this.
If you're looking for something funny and lighter, definitely give this a read.
Such a refreshing & fun read! And the takeaway quote of the day “The pettiest bitch you know is a straight man!” FACTS!!!!!! LOL! I couldn’t put this book down, it kept my attention from start to finish and the sprinkle of spice was just right! I also love the other black author shoutouts called out in the story. Sasha needs Wes and Wes needs Sasha, they just had to figure it out, and solve a mystery man along the way!
The romantic scenes felt deeply one-sided, with the woman given little participation or agency. The descriptions of the woman also seemed heavily shaped by the male gaze, while the leads’ repetitive conversations went nowhere until the very end.
I think this book is perfect for a beach trip or vacation! It’s lighthearted, not too deep, and overall good story. Very cute! It would be that streaming platform type of movie that you and your homegirls watch on a girl’s night in!
This book was very easy for me to read, I read it over the course of two days. I enjoyed that there were multiple moments where I actually laughed out loud.
Some might say the story was predictable, but I’m OK with that! I don’t always need some riveting, shake the Earth type of story.
Sometimes a cute, corny, slow burn is what we all need! Good job Tia!
This was my first book by this author. I enjoyed this book, it's a quick read. I am not sure the dynamic between the MCs was believable as it dragged on after they both revealed to each other how they felt. But I still enjoyed the read and would read another book from this author.
