Loved this book! A real page-turner!
A domestic thriller following a female Robin Hood (Meg) that cons corrupt men, takes them for all their worth, and distributes the spoils amongst those he wronged, and the journalist (Kat) that crossed her path and is trying to catch her for a life changing story.
Written from both women’s perspectives I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. I wouldn’t say it’s twisty or necessarily unique, but the two main female characters and their strange relationship was well written and the feminist undertones were enjoyable, especially when Meg would destroy their entire lives. This was a fun, engaging, domestic thriller and I’m excited to read more by this author. This was a nice relaxing comfort read!
This is my BOTM main selection for June and it was badass! Also my first book by Julie Clark who also wrote "The Last Flight" which I haven't read yet but I'm sure to add that close to the top of my list.
In this book we have two women: Meg and Kat. Meg is a career con artist. If she gets close to you then she already knows everything about you and you're dead already. Ok, maybe not dead but seriously screwed. We also have Kat who was screwed over by Meg ten years ago and had the whole course of her life changed for the worse. So, bitterly, she waits ten years for Meg to come back and when she does she is ready for some payback.
The good: These are two very well written characters with a ton of personality and character. I really liked them both and really wanted both of them to come out on top. Also this book was right at 280 pages. Everyone take a look! "All killer: no Filler" This is the perfect length in my opinion.
I really wish it was more twisty and at least one WTF twist would have been awesome but there really isn't. It basically just goes A to B to C...... But in a well written and entertaining manner. There is also a small set up for a sequel. I really hope so because I would love to read about these two again.
Great book!
