I devoured this book. I loved that Amber is such an unlikeable character. I also loved that Mr. Parrish became such an unlikeable character after I was already so invested in Amber getting her comeuppance. This book did an amazing job of proving that appearances aren't always what they seem, and that there is nothing to be gained by envying others. By the end, I was just so thrilled with what happens in Daphne's story. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who loves justice and is patient enough to wait for the payoff.
Entertaining beach read, mildly suspenseful. 2.5 stars rounded up because it kept my attention during a pandemic. My book club enjoys thrillers and frankly they start to run one into the other especially if they aren’t well written. Without giving away anything the ending is just too buttoned up and the twists are a bit predictable.
