The Last Mrs. Parrish: A Novel
A mesmerizing debut about a coolly manipulative woman and a wealthy "golden couple," from a stunning new voice in psychological suspense.
Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.
To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn't have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.
With shocking turns and dark secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.

This was a read that kept me wanting to tune back in to see what was happening next. Even when I started figuring stuff out early on, I still needed to know.
I will say, that I am slightly tainted by a similar story line with another book and granted the OTHER book was released later on, I ended up reading this one second, so much of this book I felt I have experienced before.
But with that being said, I did enjoy it very much. I made sure to take out any bias opinions and experience this with a new lens.
I highly recommend this twisty, fast paced, thriller!
After having finished, I can say this book was hard to read. The first half was slow and the character wasn't likable. Then you start to see other perspectives. While it does pick up a good bit in the second half, it also hits on so many topics that are just hard to read about.

This reminded me a bit of The Talented Mr. Ripley and Sleeping With the Enemy with a touch of Single White Female.
I like the way the story was constructed in two parts told from different perspectives. The second half made me feel better about having to frequently suspend disbelief during the first. A solid psychological thriller with a satisfying end.
