The Iron Knight: discover this unmissable, gripping, magical, epic fantasy sensation from bestselling author Julie Kagawa (The Iron Fey Book 4)

From the limitless imagination of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Kagawa, The Iron Fey series continues. My name--my True Name--is Ashallayn'darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her. My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl... To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. Then Meghan Chase--a half human, half fey slip of a girl--smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive and with the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side. To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that sometimes it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice. I have started this series backwards. This is the first book I have read and it is currently the last book in the series.
This is the story of how Ash resolves his past and his conflict with Puck on his quest to become mortal. He does this so that he can live in the Iron Kingdom with Meghan, the girl he is in love with.
While there is an awful lot of back-story that comes from having three books prior to this, I still didn't feel too lost reading this installment. Information is conveyed through recollections, dialog and dreams.
The pacing is great and the action sequences were well written. The dialog was extremely funny (especially when Puck was speaking). The characters are equally well done.
Now that I have read the HEA for two of these characters (Ash and Meghan) I hope that Julie Kagawa will write one for Puck as well. I also will be going back and reading this series starting with her first book The Iron King.

I was TOO late, but then we got through.
The Iron Knight is like The Wizard of Oz and Labyrinth on crack. An epic journey to become human leads Ash through dangerous trials and into mysterious, unknown places. Julie Kagawa's hauntingly descriptive writing weaves enchanting stories with fairy tale-like characters that the reader will remember for a long time.
There was a part of the book I didn't find necessary and kind of droned on do that brought it down just one star but I truly loved the book, it's my favorite of the series. :)
