I enjoyed this book bc it was fiction, so I wasn't reading into the scenarios as much as the others. There were times I was really scared for her that the men would not go back in the attic. People need to learn to be entertained and not disect everything to be plausible or make sense. Again its FICTION.
Great concept. Subpar execution.
A fun way to dissect romance and relationships that ended up with deeper realizations and truths for the main character. I enjoyed that there was some suspense and uncertainty of how the story would go and end. Usually dumb, selfish choices leave me disliking a character but the circumstances of this world had me understanding every one of them. I was rooting all along for her to find the love she wanted.
Extremely entertaining and suspenseful!! I loved Lauren who is the main character that is sharp and funny. This book flips the script on the idea of meeting “the one.” There is no resolution on the attic’s magic which might be frustrating for some readers.
Would you send your husband back to swap him for another? Holly Gramazio’s heroine Lauren doesn’t have a husband, but when she returns home from a “hen party” a man named Michael is in her house and claims he's her spouse. The photos on her phone don’t lie, showing her they have been together for years. She quickly learns when she sends a husband up into her magic attic, a brand new one comes down in his place and she is faced with unlimited choices. Bad breath? Back to the attic. Unfortunate mustache? Up he goes. Anger problems? Off to the belfry… this romp is hilarious and touching, a reminder that the grass isn’t always greener and that love, even at its best, is apt to be imperfect. Fun, funny, original summer read.
