Powerful story about the events leading up to a police shooting of a black boy and the community repercussions following the event. Heartbreaking. Eye opening. Poignant. Real. Thomas pulls no punches and delivers all of her characters with an immediacy and a humanity that rings true.

Watched the movie a few times & wanted to read the book which isn’t much different at all.
