The Gods of Gotham is rich in historical details and characters that leap off the page. Timothy Wilde is forced into his role as one of the newly appointed "copper stars" of the New York City Police Department. With no choice but to accept the job, he finds himself immersed in a despicable mystery involving children and the underbelly of the city. Lyndsay Faye's page-turner had me reading into the wee hours of the night, and while the ending was not a total surprise, the trails it laid were. I am anxious to dive into the second installment.
