4.5 - almost a 5 star read, but mostly just anticipating what will happen next in The Ever Queen!
What a fun switch up by adding Fae pirates and Vikings! Just what I needed.
Good writing, not too much spice, but, a perfect slow burn. If this book was food, it would be junk food! Not to be taken too seriously, but extremely enjoyable!

“Hate me, curse me, I cared little, so long as I was the first thought of her day and the last of her night.”

The Ever King is a book that completely swept me away in a storm of romance, betrayal, and magic. Erik and Livia’s enemies-to-lovers romance is the kind that lingers, the kind that feels both star-crossed and inevitable.

“You ruined everything, and I don’t care. Ruin me. Destroy me. As long as I have you.”

Their story is an aching push and pull, filled with stolen moments and fierce devotion, all set against a backdrop of ruthless power struggles and chilling fate. If you love your fantasy with swoon-worthy tension, morally gray rulers, and a love story that refuses to be extinguished, this book is pure perfection. Plus, this Viking/pirate/fae/siren combination is unique and the magic system is so well crafted… do not miss this!!

“Don’t regret me.”

Wow. I loved this duology (this is the second in The Ever Seas). Erik absolutely broke me with his declarations for Livia. I didn’t think this book was as good as the first, but overall I loved the duology. I am planning on continuing the series and reading more from LJ Andrews!

There were TW for this book but honestly I didn't feel any of them were very present in the story. I really enjoyed the pirates and fae combo! I'm excited to read more about these characters and seeing the two lands join!
