Definitely 3.75 ⭐️ on Fable / worthy of a round up to 4 star ⭐️ on Goodreads / stick to a 7 ⭐️ here.
I got 3 words for you: sexy fae pirates. I really loved the characters, especially Livia and Erik. Erik can call me “love” any day of the week and I wouldn’t mind a necklace from the bones of my enemy either as long as he fucks me gloriously afterward. Woof, Daddy 🥵.
I enjoyed the story and the journey, I especially loved being in the journey through Livia’s anxiety and what that is like. You don’t often see that in FMCs in a book so it was something that stuck out to me! I didn’t get as sucked into the story as I would’ve liked though so that’s the main reason it didn’t get a true 4 ⭐️ Fable / 8 ⭐️
What to expect:
- Enemies to lovers
- Found family
- Who did this
- Fated mates
- Slow burn
This book started off slow. I was really worried I wasn't going to like it.
However, once I got past the world-building, I was hooked! I gave 4 stars due to the world-building loosing me in places and I had various questions that I think were supposed to be answered.

Was it magnificent? No
Was it the distraction I needed this week? 1000%
Am I going to read the next one? Wasn't planning on it, but now I have to because this one ended on a cliffhanger.
I enjoyed the world and the different magic and powers possessed by the different clans. I also really enjoyed the pirate/viking vibe. There were some times where I felt like I was maybe missing some key info relating to the world and the fae clans, but am wondering if I had read the related series if that would have helped round out the world building
