What a ride! This was my first read from Brandon after years of his writing being recommended to me and I should've started sooner! This is a fast paced beautifully written story with such an original magic system!
I would recommend this to any fantasy fan but mostly to those in a reading rut. The story pulls you in from the first sentence and never gets boring or too complicated for a late night read.
The Asian influence is very inspiring and entertaining, and it's hard to believe I was so invested in whether or not Shai finishes her task in time!
