I bought the trilogy on my kindle because I loved the first movie so much. Although the books are different than the movie (as is usually the case when a book is turned into a movie) the vibe is very much the same. I was surprised by which characters became more prevalent in the 2nd & 3rd books. And on occasion, I would get a little annoyed with some of them (cousin Eddie in particular) and the constant name/brand dropping I would glaze over from time to time. I get that it's an integral point to the superficial judging going on in the "Upper Asian Class" to determine where each character or family stood in the almost aristocratic hierarchy. Some characters I liked in the movie better than their internal monolog within the book; while others proved to be more rich in character than could be accomplished within the confines of a movie. Altogether, certainly wntertaining and worth the read.
