I discovered this series during my endless wandering within my school library. At first it was only a glimpse at the older covers, I saw a firce young girl and thought, meh looks interesting.
BOY was I unprepared!
I fell in love with all the characters, relating myself to their actions and choices more times than I could count. What I thought would be such a simple plot, opened like a sinkhole throughout the books.
Celaena Sardothian (AKA, Lillian Gordaina, AKA Dianna Brackyn AKA THE Aelin Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius) was an exceptionally brave, fierce and powerful character with so much backstory I felt akin to her. This series had me falling in love with Maas and hooked me to her future works. I grew up a Maas fan and despite all the controversy she may face, I will not deny her ability to write beautifully troubled characters is phenomenal. Nehemia, girl, you will always have a place in my little gay heart!
Her world-building in this series was exceptional. If I was stranded with only one series to read, I pray it be this one.
