While she tries to find her feet, she meets a grumpy cat with a secret and reconnects with an old friend in the local antique store. Everything seems to be going well... except that her magic isn't responding like it should. What's a witch to do when everything in life seems to be going wrong? First step, make a good cup of coffee!
****
The Coffee House Witch & The Grumpy Cat is first book in the Cobblestone Coven series and it follows witch Cassiopeia and her return to her hometown. It's a cozy fantasy with a sapphic romance in a magical world with talking animals and lots of light-hearted banter.

Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you expect. For witch, Cassiopeia, it’s a failed engagement and retreat from the city. It seems like her deities have turned their back on her and her magic is on the fritz. But all is not bad. She’s back to working at her grandmother’s coffee shop and reconnecting with old friends. She’s even helping out a grumpy familiar whose witch has passed away. Maybe going home was just what she needed.

The Coffee House Witch & the Grumpy Cat starts off a new series by Ariana Jade. Cassie is a charming character who is grappling with a bit of bad luck. Reeling from a broken engagement, she’s not quite ready for a new romance. But waiting in the wings is her childhood friend, Faye, who works in the antique store with her grandparents. The banter between Cassie and Faye is cute and sets the stage for a slow burn friends to lovers relationship. Gran’s familiar, Betty, is a lovable lazy cat. The scene where she provides comfort to Cassie is very heartwarming. And then there’s the grumpy cat, Balthazar. Although he and Cassie got off on the wrong foot, a bond is definitely forming between them. A quick and cozy read with lots of potential. I’m looking forward to more.
