The Close-Up: A Hollywood Renaissance Novella (1001 Dark Nights)

I met Nazareth Armstrong when I was eighteen years old. From the beginning, my brother warned me to stay away from him. Told Naz to stay away from me.
Our hearts didn't listen.
I shared one magical night under the stars with my brother's rival, thinking it was the start of a once-in-a-lifetime something.
But one awful moment ended it all.
Years later when we meet again, we've both pursued our dreams, lived a little, found success...but never found love. What began as a tiny flame when we were young now threatens to consume us. I'm more drawn to Naz than ever, but his complicated history with my brother makes whatever this could be...nearly impossible.
But Naz accepts impossible as a dare.
Through his clever maneuvering and dogged determination, I find myself on a yacht with him and his friends cruising through the Mediterranean. It's a whirlwind set ablaze. Away from reality, surrendering to the tender heat of his touch, I forget that everything could burn.
*This is the love story of Takira, who first appears in Reel, book 1 of the Hollywood Renaissance series. Characters from the HOOPS series also make appearances, but you do not have to read any of those books to enjoy this one.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it's an introduction to an author's world. And for fans, it's a bonus book in the author's series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Mainly because they are NASTYYYYYYYY (in the good way) They are sooooooooooooooooooooo naughty. We have spicy things happening all over the place and hardly in a bed and I say this with complete admiration.
They are so sexy!
Their development as a couple felt so realistic as well. That one super charged moment they had in high school so many years ago, is the fuel to this reunion they now have in their adult years. Takira is hesitant, as Naz and her brother have a bad history. So she isn't sure how to balance the loyalty to her brother with this new/revived interest with Naz. Again, all this goodness in a novela, like HOW?!!!!!
Also, WE GET AN UPDATE ON ALL OUR FAVORITE HOOPS COUPLES. If you know me, the Hoops series is my heart and soul, and yes, I got teary eyed as they made SEVERAL cameos in the book.
This book is perfect!
What an excellent read! Hoops world and the Hollywood Renaissance world came together, and it was a gorgeous connection . I did not want to stop reading, I wish there was more, but alas, it is a novella.
Takira met Naz a few years ago when they were both in High School. He is her brother's teammate and the team is celebrating before one of their biggest games. They had an instant attraction and enlightening conversation on her rooftop hangout. Naz and Takira made plans to meet again after the game, but that never worked out.
When Naz lays eyes on Takira again all these years, he is more than ready to see whether the connection is still there. And hopefully now that they are adults maybe that forbidden teammate's sister rule will not be necessary.
Kennedy Ryan as usual writes a story that is thought provoking, has wonderful characters and is a nice and steamy.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Great world building, Happily Ever After, Original, Page-turner, Steamy, Wonderful characters
