The Cartel, is a series of books however, this one particularly is about the notorious and ruthless drug cartel in the port of Miami also known as The Diamond Family. This book was really “hood.” It had a lot of action throughout the plot along with some added spicy scenes. In the end will it be between love or revenge? I didn’t want to spoil this book but I definitely recommend you read The Cartel if you want a bit of action, spice, and gangster. I DID READ THIS VIA AUDIOBOOK. 🎧 ⚠️WARNING TO THE LANGUAGE⚠️ RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ PLOT: 📚📚📚📚📚 GANGSTER: 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫 SPICY: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ CHARACTERS: 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎

Having read this series multiple times, I know my review may come off as a bit biased, but honestly, I haven't encountered an AA or JC book that I didn't enjoy. The Cartel is a gripping classic that delves deep into the world of a crime family, showcasing how Big Carter has Miami firmly under his control. Not only is he the reigning "snowman," but he also skillfully balances legitimate businesses to keep a low profile from the feds. The prologue immediately hooks you as we witness Big Carter wrestling with the precarious line between freedom and imprisonment. Just when it seems like he's managed to dodge a bullet, things spiral out of control as the ruthless Haitian crew, led by Ma'Tee, takes the upper hand against the Cartel. In a whirlwind of events, Young Carter, Big Carter’s eldest son from before his relationship with Taryn, finds himself unexpectedly thrust into the role of leader. Originally from MI, he’s no stranger to the drug game and brings along his loyal day ones, Ace and Zyir, to navigate this treacherous landscape. Along the way, he encounters Miamor, a fiercely independent woman with a dark history as a "Murder Mama," who harbors her own vendetta against the Cartel, ignited by none other than Mecca. Here are some of my thoughts—no particular order, just the raw feels: - Miamor really didn’t deserve Carter. Their love was beautiful, and the intimacy they shared was palpable, but I just wish she had been honest with him. If she had allowed him in, they could have tackled her issues with Mecca together. As her partner, he was always there trying to protect her, but her icy demeanor kept him at bay. - And then there’s Mecca—a total hothead with no self-control. What he did to Money (Monroe) and Leena? That wrecked me. It’s a true testament to how dangerous his character is. - Poor Taryn—she became an unfortunate casualty in this saga. She didn’t deserve the betrayal from Miamor. But Miamor was all about her revenge, unwilling to let Mecca outsmart her. It’s a vicious cycle. -Zyir, *insert eye roll* He really dropped the ball! He preached about Breeze being naive and a liability, yet he was the one who put her in harm’s way. His decisions led to her downfall, and that was just a gut punch. This book effortlessly pulls you into the chaotic world of loyalty, betrayal, and the complexities of love, leaving you eager for more with every page turned. If you've yet to dive into this series, trust me—you won't regret it!
