The Butcher Game: A Dr. Wren Muller Novel

Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author and co-host of chart-topping true crime podcast Morbid comes the thrilling book two in the Dr. Wren Muller series, told from the dueling perspectives of a notorious serial killer and a medical examiner seeking justice.
Destruction follows the ruthless serial killer, Jeremy Rose, the Bayou Butcher, as he heads north to evade capture for his horrific crimes. As he seeks safe harbor with a former friend, he remains focused on unfinished business with forensic pathologist Dr. Wren Muller, the only target who’s ever escaped him—twice. But not this time. He’s determined to make Wren suffer, and he’s promised to make her play by his own twisted rules.
Still in shock over the harrowing encounter with her old nemesis, Wren is on forced medical leave in New Orleans, attempting to mend the deep scars of her traumatic past. But with growing evidence that Jeremy is leaving a fresh trail of mutilated victims across Massachusetts, Wren realizes the best way to heal is to renew her pursuit of this vicious killer. She sets her sights on Jeremy, only to discover that she may have walked directly into his trap. As their twisted cat-and-mouse game rachets up to a violent clash of good versus evil, Wren prepares to sacrifice everything to bring Jeremy to justice.
With intense true-to-life details from autopsy technician and Morbid podcast co-host, Alaina Urquhart, The Butcher Game is a gripping addition to the New York Times bestselling Dr. Wren Muller series.

Morbid is one of my favorite podcasts out there. I love true crime and I love the way Alaina and Ash tell the stories, so when Alaina came out with The Butcher and the Wren I knew it was something I was Ted to read and this sequel was the exact same way. I was drawn into Jeremy and Wren’s story the last time and this book just has me itching for another one already! I don’t think a third book could be written fast enough for me. This book picks up right where the first one ended so definitely read book one first but you have to pick these up if you’re at all into thrillers and/or true crime. I swear I feel like Jeremy could be a real serial killer and getting Wren’s perspective as not only a medical examiner but a victim, makes the dynamic of the plot so interesting. Having Jeremy on the run and moving up into Mass with his old friend, Philip, was a cool part of this story and how it ends just had my jaw on the floor. I can’t way it’s perfect simply because I felt like there was so much build up and then the end sort of sped up, similar to book one actually. But I will say I thoroughly enjoyed this and highly recommend the Dr. Wren Muller series!
Better than the first, excited to for what’s to come in the series
A really good ending (or is it…) to the first book, The Butcher and the Wren. It felt a little slow in some chapters but otherwise a great and suspenseful read full of imagery making you feel like you are in the room.
Enjoyed this book. Wondering if Mueller is done?
A heart wrenching but beautiful addition to the story of Wren Muller. Looking forward to the next book!
