This was quite the twisty debut, my book peeps!! Definitely fast-paced too!! 🙌
Lots of POVs to keep track of, but I did feel it was doable. I also felt that there was a much simpler solution to Jasmine’s plight. 🤔 But it was still a fun read that kept me hooked! 👏
Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Jessie Garcia for the opportunity to read the eARC in exchange for my honest review! I look forward to reading more from Jessie in the future! ❤️
I love a good, suspenseful thriller, but when I can't like any of the characters, it's a red flag for me. Still, I persevered. By part 4, everything turned upside down and topsy-turvy, revealing hidden motives and masks were off.
The story started off engaging, but as it continued, it felt like a runaway train with one shock after another, eventually becoming too outlandish. Most of the characters were unlikable, except for Robert and Lucy, who were just background characters.
The pacing was decent, with suspense building to a crescendo and a big twist at the end. However, I felt the last chapters went "off the rails" for me.
The narrative unfolds through the perspectives of various characters.

Thank you, St Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
