Saw someone describe this book as one of their favourite books about female rage, and I would have to agree.

The book has a really interesting look into the relationship between the colonizer and colonized culture in a colonial setting, and a really great example of a main character who makes bad decisions and is not necessarily alway likeable or relatable.

Again I love R.F. Kuang's writing style, there is almost no fluff or unnecessary writing, everything included is important to the plot and this series is one of very few trilogy series where it absolutely needed to be three books and wasn't simply stretched into three books for the sake of it.

As upsetting as the ending was, I realized somewhere along the way that it was the only ending that Rin would be satisfied with and that made me ok with the way things ended
