This was such a fun little story. I am a little shocked at how much I was able to visualize and care for these characters. I was able to see the sisters and feel what they felt. Alice Hoffman is an incredible writer. Anyway, this was a tale of love and loss and friendship between two sisters whose parents died when they were young. One chooses to runaway from her problem’s and the other face it, if you want a tale about that, then definitely a must pick-up read.

I got this on KindleUnlimited since I'm the first to take advantage of any opportunity to read about anything that is related to a bookstore. This story captured my heart. In this touching story, sisters Isabel and Sophie lose their way before finding it again. The source of their conflict is the family bookstore on Brinkley's Island in Maine. The characters were well-developed, and the charming small-town setting added to the appeal.

This was my first book by Ms. Hoffman, but not my last.

This was a short story. The audiobook is only an hour long. It begins with the typical small town girl dreaming of leaving to live a big life. After a loss, she returns to her home town. She makes a mess and realizes she needs to stay and help her sister.

I love the way they bond over baking their moms recipes and working to save their dads struggling bookstore.

The ending is so sweet. I wanted more.
