The Bookshop on the Corner: A Novel (Scottish Village of Kirrenfief, 1)

Nina Redmond is a librarian with a gift for finding the perfect book for her readers. But can she write her own happy-ever-after? In this valentine to readers, librarians, and book-lovers the world over, the New York Times-bestselling author of Little Beach Street Bakery returns with a funny, moving new novel for fans of Nina George’s The Little Paris Bookshop.
Nina is a literary matchmaker. Pairing a reader with that perfect book is her passion… and also her job. Or at least it was. Until yesterday, she was a librarian in the hectic city. But now the job she loved is no more.
Determined to make a new life for herself, Nina moves to a sleepy village many miles away. There she buys a van and transforms it into a bookmobile — a mobile bookshop that she drives from neighborhood to neighborhood, changing one life after another with the power of storytelling.
From helping her grumpy landlord deliver a lamb, to sharing picnics with a charming train conductor who serenades her with poetry, Nina discovers there’s plenty of adventure, magic, and soul in a place that’s beginning to feel like home… a place where she just might be able to write her own happy ending.

I loved the first half of The Bookshop on the Corner... Nina's struggle to find her place, moving to Scotland, purchasing the van and launching the bookmobile. And I didn't mind that there were two love interests--I genuinely didn't know which one she'd end up with (even though I had my suspicions)--I was enjoying the ride! But--and I use but here lightly--the last quarter (??) of the book wasn't as strong for me. Especially when love interest #2 unexpectedly made another appearance after I thought we'd moved on from him. It took me out of the story. But I was satisfied with the ending and thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in this little book about books set in the Highlands! It's every book-lover's dream job come true.
The title of this one is still bugging me, though. There was never a reference to a corner--that I can remember?? I feel like it's an inside joke that's gone over my head. ;)
