I generally enjoy T.J. Klune’s books because they’re always imaginative. The plot was creative and very well written. My only issue was that Nate’s infatuation felt a bit forced, which made it harder for me to fully buy into that part of the story. Although there were hints early on that the relationship would become important, I never found myself fully invested in it. Even so, Klune’s originality is what keeps me picking up his books. 3⭐️ Book #34 in 2026
Are you ready for an adventure? Pack your bacon and buckle your seat for this light hearted, heart warming, wild adventure along with three very different people. I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down and read it in three days. It does have an intimate scene so reader beware, it's spicy

About a man who doesn’t have contact with his family and has to come to terms with death within the family. Dealing both with tragic circumstances and losing his job, he leaves D.C. to return to Oregon where his parent’s cabin is, hoping to work through things. Instead, he comes face to face with two intruders - an ex-Marine and a strange little girl.
The dialogue was my favorite. As I recall, I really loved the dialogue in Under the Whispering Door as well.
The story flowed nicely.
I can only give it 4 stars though because there were things toward the end that didn’t fully work for me.
