Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the book title. The story and the characters are just as quirky as the title and I loved it. It was a book club pick, unfortunately, I was unable to attend the meeting where this book was discussed and would love to have known how it was received by the others in the club. This is my second TJ Klune book, and it didn't disappoint. Yes, it's sappy and painfully optimistic. Yes, it's got cheesy lines and characters. But it deals with real, tough life issues like death, suicide, murder, sexuality, and grief in such human, lovely ways. I'd recommend this book to anyone who would love a different view on death.
I started reading this two days after my dog passed away. It was difficult to read at times, as it does talk about the death of a pet. I did cry multiple times, but it was still a beautiful story and helped me through this time, even laughing at some parts.
