My interest in the book continued to drop the more I read it. When I realized I was dragging my feet with it I accepted it was time to DNF it.
I can't say I loved this book, because it was a bit confusing and some of the characters were so cliched, that it was ridiculous. There is a murder at Castle Kinloch and three Americans who are houseguests become suspects. Interestingly they each had a history with the victim, Brett Saffron Presley, and each of the three women has a motive to kill or silence him. Kat, the character who writes sexy novels, is a bit over the top in her clothes, language, and sexual innuenduoes. Cassie writes cozy stories and has six children, and Emma writes historical fiction.
Of course, it's a small island and everyone is related. The chief inspector is the brother of the barmaid/doctor/medical examiner. And there's a lot of annoying Scottish phrases without any explanation.
