Great conclusion to Raihn and Oraya’s story, wrapping it up nicely while leaving small portions open for the future books. Nice to see Raihn’s POV, which I think was needed after the ending of the 1st book! I thought Oraya’s journey through grief and betrayal was handled incredibly well.
I also really enjoyed the different writing style of the interludes, very reflective and foreshadowing things to come.
I undoubtedly loved this book. However, I feel like it could’ve been about 200 pages shorter. There were parts early on that I felt like were unnecessary & I wished the story would just progress. I’m super happy with the ending & hoping we get to find out about what happened to Septimus in future books!
A great follow up to the first one. This author writes beautifully and I will definitely be reading her other books. I loved the enemies to lovers back to enemies and finally lovers aspect. The twists were genuinely surprising and the stakes felt real. Definitely recommend these two books.
