I really enjoyed having it from the dog's perspective but also looking at it from a mature aspect. Heartfelt and emotional. Great read.

This book has everything: love, tragedy, redemption, danger, and—most especially—the canine narrator Enzo. This old soul of a dog has much to teach us about being human.

Typically, after I finish reading a book, an hour later I'll pick up another book and start reading. However, once in a while, a book comes around that truly touches my heart and I have to wait a little while to start a new book. That is the case with this amazing book. The story was very real, it touched my heart, and I loved Enzo as much as I love my own dog. For those of us who think of our dogs as equals: best friends, family members; this book will be incredibly relatable. Many of us ponder what our dogs truly think and understand. And it's been said that dogs know the secret to life. I did not find any of Enzo's thoughts too out-there because he is a dog. In fact, I hope and do believe that dogs do understand and sympathize with most of what happens to their human family members. The story line was real, heart wrenching, sad at times, but very entertaining and touching. The characters were also very, very likable, particularly Denny and of course our narrator, Enzo. When I first began this book, I worried that there would be too much race car talk and analogies and I would get bored. There was a lot of it, but it fit in well with the story and didn't take up too much of the plot. If you liked A Dogs Purpose, you will love this book.
