I want to thank Joanne, author and principle character, for sharing her story as she and her family navigated through their profound grief at Christmastime. No one really knows how they would deal with tragic loss, until they do. The shock, depression and even funny or weird circumstances she and her family experienced rang true and relatable, as she recounted that season of receiving gifts from mysterious friends. That this period and these friends brought her and her family out of their personal darkness, was truly the gift they’ve continued to cherish. A perfect book for the holiday season.
