My rising career in sports medicine has just come crashing down. So here I sit, alone in this swanky hotel bar, ready to drown my feelings in bitters and bourbon. Then suddenly, in walks...him.

“I love cities at night…It’s one of my favorite parts of all the travel I get to do. I love skylines. I love the way they have a shape…like a silhouette…Like a woman’s body. You can memorize it. You can see just the silhouette of Seattle and you know it…Sometimes people enter your life and it’s a meeting. But sometimes, it’s a meeting again. Deja vu. Soul recognition.” Rachel Price has spent too long in the industry not to know a player when she sees one. So when a mysterious man rescues her Chad McYachtclub, “the kind of guy that talks at you, not to you”, she’s taken by surprise. “Nothing will get better until the good guys stand up and set the bad ones straight.” And this guy is out to do just that. “Women quite literally throw themselves at these men every day of the week. But when they do, they know who the men are…their number, their position, their salaries and signing bonuses.” So Rachel decides to add a twist to their tryst: “‘No names…No jobs. No real life. Tonight, we’re just two people lost in a city not our own…Come find me’…‘Lead the way, Mystery Girl.’” When Mystery Man lays eyes on Rachel Price, it “has the same effect as the first drop of a puck onto the ice. My heart stops in my chest, and my whole body goes into performance mode. It’s time to play. Time to win…I need this to last. Need her to want me. Not Jake Compton, starting NHL defenseman. Not Jake Compton the playboy, the millionaire. I need her to want me. Just me.” “Seattle is our place. Here in this room, in this city, nothing can keep us apart.” But will Rachel’s fear of failure separate them forever? Emily Rath’s That One Night is the puck drop in the spicy NHL-inspired pucking around romance series.

Short and SPICY prequel novella to Pucking Around. We ain’t here for plots we here for fucking. I read this as an audiobook and WOOF. Dual POV narration just the way I like it. Banter, chemistry, sex, it has it all. Good smut.
