I thought the stories were each really unique and equally eerie. At some points, they felt a little tedious but as you kept reading I thought that they progressed nicely and became much more entertaining. I especially liked the second half of the book, when Dana's assistant Jana was introduced for the last few stories. At least for me, the book was kind of slow up until Jana's introduction. Since the first half was written as though Dana was retelling her experiences to an audience, they felt sort of monotonous compared to the second half, which was much more entertaining. In the beginning, the stories were more straightforward and felt sort of flat compared to the second half. Jana added some fun and humor that I thought the book really needed.

Although this book is marketed as a Horror novel, I wouldn't say that I was ever really scared. Although it did have a creepy sorta feel, I thought of it more as an action book than horror. Overall, I did start to enjoy the book more and more as it progressed and I sped through the last few chapters with Jana. I really enjoyed her character and would like to see more stories that feature both Dana and Jana. I particularly loved "Blind Love" and "The Case of the Ragman's Anguish"!
